Unlike many therapists, I began studying to become a therapist at a very young age. The desire to help people feel better in the world and to help people have better relationships came instinctualy to me. So at the age of 18, I sought out the educational requirements that would facilitate this career. I studied psychology while an undergraduate, and then I attended USC for my Masters.  I completed my PsyD at a local psychoanalytic institute in May of 2017.

I have been practicing in Santa Monica and in West Hollywood since 2002.

My practice focuses on individuals and couples struggling with issues around relationships, codependency, addiction, infertility, infidelity, communication problems, grieving losses, depression, anxiety, marital conflicts and divorce.

Whether it is a current crisis and/or the desire to change old patterns, my style is nurturing, warm, directive and fun. I work with you as a team, getting to the core of  your problems and helping us to understand the barriers that may get in the way of you living more effectively, and more positively in your life.  I am intrinsically an optimist, which is helpful for people who are looking for new and positive ways of thinking and coping in the world.

With close to 30 years of working in the field of social work and psychology,  I feel very comfortable treating a vast variety of personal problems. I have a lot of experience and interest working with people who are experiencing major losses, transitions, deaths of loved ones, grief, problems with addiction, marital conflict due to extra marital affairs, relationship struggles due to an addicted partner, issues around divorce, symptoms associated with depression, bipolar disorder or anxiety, stress associated with blended families, and parenting.

I thoroughly enjoy this work.  It is an honor to be let into people's lives, to witness healing and to help people gain a better understanding of their internal emotional worlds. I look forward to working with you and helping you see the opportunities ahead!
